The Sub 70 699 is for the golfer that requires the newest technology in game improvement without sacrificing looks and shot making ability. The manufacturing process was fine tuned to provide the hottest face and the largest sweet spot attainable without sacrificing looks and playability. The precision milled face is a 1.7mm wide sliver of 455 Carpenter Steel, allowing for maximum compression and face flex for added ball speed, even on mishits. The hollow bodied head is injected with TPE, a resin like substance that stabilizes the face and creates improved feel and sound at impact.
The 699 is the successful culmination of Sub 70's desire to offer an iron that uses the latest in game improvement technology but retains the sleekness of a traditional player's club, inspiring confidence at address and power at delivery.

- Sub70 699 irons 4-PW
Got the 699 irons about a 3 weeks ago. First the customer service with the company is out of this world. I had some questions on shafts and Jason instead of responding to my emails called me to talk about what I was looking for and how I wanted the shafts. After a couple phone calls settled on the Project X graphite shafts and man was he on the money. The 699 irons produce a piercing shot for me since I am a high ball hitter, shot came down considerably. I have shot two rounds in the low to mid 70s and a few in the low 80s. Biggest take away is they are forgiving while not looking so bulky like the other game improvement irons out there. I am about a 1/2 club longer then my other set I know that is not that much but with the shot pattern and spin I'm getting on the greens is perfect. I would recommend these clubs to any mid to low handicapper out there and put the irons up against any other club maker out there and see if Sub70s don't preform better.

- Got me to Sub 80 first time this season.
Outstanding quality and service. By the looks I was afraid the 699 may be too much club for my 14 hdcp index. Perfect size head. Toe side misses still travel 10 yards further than my mizunos JPY 900 hot metal. 150 yards with the 699. Cuts through the turf where other irons would bounce and stop.

- Sub 70 699's
From start to finish this was by far the best experience I had buying golf clubs. The day after I placed my order I received a call from Jason (owner of Sub 70) confirming my specs and provided some further insight on the product. Had the clubs in my hand (custom built) two days later. This included a hand written letter thanking me for my purchase. This is the type of customer service that will keep me coming back. Now on to the club performance.
I hover between a 3 to 6 handicap and have been there for a while. I am very interested in trying new clubs and have done fittings for pretty much every company you can think of. To be honest I was not even in the market for clubs but I kept coming back to the Sub 70 website because I loved the look and specs of the 699’s. I went with the KBS Tour 90 shaft (+1” and 2 degrees upright) to get a lighter shaft than what I had.
Bottom line is the clubs are amazing. They had a higher launch than my current set but carried about a club longer. I was able to work them with complete ease but noticed the average ball flight for me had much less of a draw than what I normally play. Eventually I was able to get them on a lunch monitor and again compared them to a few different brands (including a $2400 set). They perform as well or better than them all. If you are on the fence just use the demo program and give them a try. Or in my case just buy them and go enjoy what they have to offer at a much more affordable price than well know brand names. They have a money back guarantee as well although I would bet you would not use it. Time to see what my next Sub 70 purchase will be!

- Absolutely be illiant irons at an unbelievable price point!!!
These are, without question, the absolute best value in the golf world right now. They are absolutely phenomenal irons. I’m a single digit handicap, and I had the pleasure to demo the 6 and 9 irons. I’ve been playing, until recently, bladed cavity irons that will go unnamed, but, suffice to say they’re a $2k set of Japanese forgings.
Anyway, had a chance to get these out, and to say I’m shocked would be an understatement. These things feel as awesome as they look, and they perform brilliantly. If you’d told me that a sub-$700 set of clubs would perform the way these do, I would have laughed and scoffed at the idea, frankly.
However, these DO perform. They feel better than the other foam filled blades irons out there. Those being the i500 and the P790’s, and honestly, it isn’t even close. With the Tour V shaft in these, they performed far superior to what I and all my playing partners expected. These are fantastic irons.
So good, in fact, that I’ve committed to switching my bag out to these irons. You won’t be disappointed, if you give these a fair shake. That, I can assure you. Same performance and arguably better, for roughly half the cost?! Yes, please!!!

- Quality WAY exceeds the cost!
The Quality of this model doesn’t match the cost. Something that preforms this well and feels this great I would expect to cost double what it does. I came into the HQ to get fit by Jason. His knowledge of Shafts and the golf swing had me in the right equipment in no time. I placed my order and receiving it two business days later! I quickly setup time to go to the Mistwood golf dome (its January) to try them out. They felt great, exploded off the clubface and I was able to hit a REPEATABLE Draw with ease. I played closest to the pin and knocked several inside 10 feet with the best score being just 4 feet from the cup! The distance was 150 yards. That used to be my 7 Iron with my old set. Now it’s a soft, 75% 8 iron. My only issue with my clubs is that its winter and I cant go outside to play an actual round right now.
